Architecture is not merely a profession, but his language for engaging with the world around him.
Ahmad Shafiee is a Senior Architect, Project Manager, Interior Designer, and university educator, holding a Master’s degree in Architecture. He began his professional career in 2001, working across various architectural and construction practices, and has spent more than two decades engaged in the design, renovation, development, and construction of architectural projects.
His architectural approach is rooted in understanding, authenticity, meaning, and a profound relationship between people and space. Architecture, in his view, is not merely the creation of form or a response to functional requirements. It is a process of understanding people, context, nature, culture, and time, and translating that understanding into meaningful space.
He believes in an architecture that remains contemporary without losing its roots, where authenticity emerges through a deeper understanding and reinterpretation of them rather than through literal repetition.
Sustainability is an inherent part of this approach. Climate, resources, energy, nature, natural light, materials, and the relationship between the building and its environment are considered alongside the quality of human life as integral elements of architectural decision-making.
Within this approach, an idea becomes meaningful when it can move beyond thought and concept and find its expression in the details, construction, and final experience of space. For this reason, the relationship between concept, design, project management, and construction is an integral part of his professional practice.
His experience includes projects in Iran and other countries, international collaborations, participation in architectural events and conferences, as well as recognition through design competitions, awards, and selected projects.

Shafiee Architecture Studio draws on experience in architecture, renovation, project management, construction, and academic and professional practice.
The studio approaches each project as a continuous process, beginning with the understanding of the brief and the development of the initial idea and concept, and continuing through architectural design, design development, technical documentation, coordination, construction management, and final execution.
Within this process, design and construction are not considered separate stages. An architectural idea must engage from the outset with the realities of the project, its context, economics, technology, nature, energy, and buildability, while maintaining its original quality and identity throughout the construction process.
A defining aspect of the studio is the formation and direction of professional teams tailored to the character and requirements of each project. Close collaboration between architects, designers, engineers, specialist consultants, contractors, and execution teams allows each project to be examined from multiple perspectives, ensuring that design decisions remain aligned with technical and construction requirements.
